I bought the following Tokidoki "Coca-Cola A Better Tomorrow" Trexi series from STCC by chance. Too bad I did not buy the other trexi from this series as they are all so adorable. Find out more about this series here. Look at the Bollicina in red. What I got here is the Bollicina Silver version, very limited edition.

Singapore Toy & Comic Convention 2008 Part 2

Next were the pictures taken from Devilrobots, a design team of five from Japan which led by the art director Shinichiro Katai.

Devilrobots specializes in graphics and character designs and the most popular character of their is To-Fu Oyako as shown in pictures below.

The front left is the To-Fu for Tokidoki.

There are some other toys by Devilrobots which I have seen from other booths as shown below.

Next was the comic artist Gary Erskine from UK.

Madcap is a platform devoted to aritstic conception and collectable objsects.

Singapore Toy & Comic Convention 2008

The first-ever Singapore Toy & Comic Convention 2008(STCC) was here from 27th to 29th June 2008. This was also the first international event of its kind in Southeast Asia to showcase the latest pop-culture trends in design, toys, comics, animation and gaming. I went down there on Saturday afternoon and snapped tons of photos from Tokidoki by Simone Legno and others e.g Devilrobots, Nintendo, BANDAI, Hasbro, Wizards of the Coast, Medicom Toy, Toumart, Madcap and more.

When I reached the entrance of the convention hall, I was first greeted by an Artist Graffiti Wall which was the collaborative artwork by artists which include my all time favorite Simone Legno(Tokidoki), Pete Fowler, Gary Erskine, Mori Chack, Kika and Nada, Devilrobots, Touma and more!

So, the first booth that I went to was of course the Tokidoki booth where sales of tee-shirt, necklaces, earings, caps and uchiwa were available.

I bought a bunch of vinly toys to display at my home, ounch, my wallet was “injured”!

Reaching the end of Tokidoki session from my photo album. There was one of the vinyl toy by Tokidoki was seen at Devilrobot’s booth, so will include that in the next section. I will probably put up another post of my vinyl figures collection in a later date.

Tokidoki online shop (part 2)

Here is another review of the online shops where I have bought my tokidoki items from. The review was based on my personal experiences during the whole shopping process till I received my items.

Karmaloop: Bought “The Sushi Adios & Ciao Ciao T-Shirt” and “The True Love Ciao Ciao & Adios Z/U Hoody” here(see pictures below).

The Hoody already has 28% savings on it. On top of that you can use this discount code: CG23109 to get a 20% off of your first purchase at Karmaloop and 10% off of every other purchase. This coupon code will never expires! Further more the 20% discount is applicable even with the already discounted sale items. However, take note that if your rep code is used with another promo code, the discount amount will only be 1%.

This shop processed the order very fast. The shipping took only 2 days via DHL ground, it is the fastest among all the 5 shops.

Conclusion: I would definitely come back for more becasue of the generous discount and the speed of order processing. But I do wish that Karmaloop can frequently update new stock on tokidoki products in the future.

The Giant Peach : Bought 3 Nautical clothings here(see pictures below). This is the only shop I know that carries the latest Tokidoki clothings. I love the new Nautical themes so much and could not bear to wait any longer. The shipping took 3 days due to the shop location is much nearer to my shipping destination in USA.

Conclusion: This shop is the fastest to stock up the latest Tokidoki themes clothing. I wish that they can at least absord the local shipping cost if certain purchase amount is reached.

I am so excited when I stumble upon these creative inspiration videos featuring Tokidoki designer Simone Legno. There are 3 free videos on site and I especially like the one where “Lynda sits down with Simone”, talking about his background, how he started sketching and the branding of Tokidoki, advices for people who want to get into design industry and more. The next video will bring you into Simone’s Sketchbook where he sketches one of his famous character "Sandy". I am really tempted to signup at Lynda.com in order to view the rest of the online exclusive videos as they are only available for the paying subscribers.

Here are the review of the online shops where I have bought my tokidoki items from. The review was based on my personal experiences during the whole shopping process till I received my items. I am not in any case affiliate to any of the sites below. If you have your own shopping experience that related to tokidoki products, feel free to post it here.

Tobi: The LA Storm T-shirt was bought here. The whole shopping cart system is smooth and efficient. The Tobi stylists, Catherine and Rachel were indeed very prompt on replying my emails and friendly. The shipping took 5 days.

Conclusion: I would definitely come back for a second time. A final thought is that I wish Tobi can add in more new tokidoki products in the future.

Chicki: The Tokidoki Pink Bag was bought here. The shopping cart system has bug? I could not go through the entire transaction properly, at time I was login in, click on any link on site and the next second I was log out from the system again. Vicky from Chicki was very helpful and prompt in answering all my doubts where I have posted my comment here. The shipping took 6 days.

Conclusion: Usually I would not even consider buying anything from a poor shopping cart system but this is an exceptional case. I have read many compliments about this site and on Vicky, therefore I decided to go ahead to make an order via email. Everything from invoice to payment went through smoothly and fast. Vicky told me that the site will be updating the cart system soon and I hope this cart system problem would be able to resolve soon.

Trendystar: When I make the purchase here till checkout, there was no indication whether the shirt that I ordered was out of stock. I received a mail after the transaction went through, saying that it would be backorder for about a week and asked
if I could wait. Well, frankly speaking, I was not so happy but decided to go through anyway. Shipping took 5 days after the stock arrived. The email replies were not friendly, no addressing of my name(lol, I like polite people).

Conclusion: You bet if I want to make another purchase again?

Have I ever mentioned that I am a big fan of Tokidoki by Simone Legno? I have discovered this brand only around year 2007, since then I have fell in love with it and therefore decided to post my tokidoki items that I have collected so far(not many though). Also there will be a separate review post on the online shops that sell tokidoki products, this is to share with all the tokidoki’s fans out there. Cheers!
